"Before your intervention the original exhibition
was tired, uninspiring and offered little for young
people in particular. This new exhibition is fresh,
interesting, inspiring and engages with both the
young and old."

Mike Cavanagh - Lincolnshire County Council

"You and your teams dedication and hard work
throughout the process in addition to the skill
and expertise you brought to bear to the project,
was in no small measure a major reason why
this project was such a success."

Mike Cavanagh - Lincolnshire County Council

Magna Carta exhibition and gallery

Lincoln Castle

Smith and Jones were selected to design, manufacture and install a complete refurbishment of the Magna Carta galleries at Lincoln Castle.

We started by completely re-working the interpretation plan to the whole site. This ensured a modern interpretive theme for the exhibition ensuring potentially heavy content is made accessible to as many visitors as possible.

We designed graphics, interactives and display cases with historical artifacts. These walls dividing the space creating a journey through the Magna Carta Story finishing in the modern day and how the documents still affects us today.

We developed a graphic identity for exhibition that presented the content and themes to visitors in an easy to understand way. It was important that visitors spent time reading the text throughout the exhibition so we made the graphics clear and information concise.

Smith and Jones were fully responsible for design, manufacture and installation of the exhibition, all being built to an extremely high standard and installed within the timescale.
