Marine Parade Shelters

Lyme Regis

Smith and Jones designed and installed the interpretive scheme within the visitor centre in the main pavillion at the Lyme Regis Marine Parade Shelters.

We were chosen because our proposal most closely reflected the design brief, with a design scheme inspired by sailing boats in the harbour and bay.

The iconic shelters in Lyme Regis have been completely redeveloped after five years of planning and construction work.

This £1.32 million project transformed the old concrete shelters into revamped community space and facilities, including shops, a market area, a performance area, and a new Visitor Centre in the Central Pavilion.

The interpretation work was funded by The Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site Team, Natural England, the National Trust, and West Dorset District Council.
